Our 2024 Grand Marshall in the Kaptains / Krewe of Blarney St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a local prominent citizen of Eureka Springs. Mr. Robert “Bob” Grudek, born in Chicago, He sits on the Election Commission Board, is a current Eureka Springs Rotarian, is a former Carroll County Sherriff with over 36 years in law enforcement, including 23 with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and five years as credit card fraud investigator with MBNA Bank.
Bob Grudek states that his job with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service was like the FBI of the Postal Service, which handled crimes such as the Unabomber case and the anthrax powder in the mail cases. During this time with the Postal Service, Mr. Grudek worked in Los Angeles, San Diego, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
With MBNA Bank, Mr. Grudek also investigated credit card fraud for a large bank for five years and has a Master’s Degree in physics and a B.A. in math Although he was looking forward to a career in the space program, he found a career in law enforcement. He has retired, once again, to the Eureka Springs Area.
Mr. Grudek and his wife Pam have been married for 58 years and have three children and nine grandchildren. Their daughter lives in Philadelphia and their two boys live in the San Diego area.
